I actually had a great time at this place. For one - pool (billiards) only cost $1 per game. And there are 2 brand new tables and it seemed like nobody was interested in playing so we had the table to ourselves. At $1 per game, this is CHEAP compared to everywhere else in the city. And the tables are brand new.. new felt, sticks were perfect, chalk available. I am a fan of pool so this was a great find for me. Second - the concept of a carnival with games and performers... I'm digging. It's different which is important in the City. Games were impossible to win (ring toss, know the milk bottles from the stand, etc). Tip: easiest game would be the dart in the red star if you really want to bring home a prize. Drinks were reasonably priced also. I was afraid they were going to be ridiculously expensive because I used to come here when the place was Pressure. But, no, $ for the drinks were manageable. The $5 cover (even though it's only $5) was a bummer though.

GoldBar you are beautiful. The walls, the ceilings, the chandeliers, everything covered in gold--its truly a sight to behold. Of all the places I've been recently, GoldBar had the best music and the best crowd. While it caters to the loungier set, there's also people dancing about. My only fault is the tight space and over the top door policy. Which I guess go hand in hand. But if you can manage, its definitely an experience worth having. Best bet is to try on a weekday.
