I've heard good things about Yoshi's from friends, and even considered having my birthday party here. Finally got to try it out for a good friend's reunion party with a close group of 6 friends. We all tried their dine about town menu and it turned out to be a great experience =) Upon entering the restaurant, I already really liked the ambiance. The place was dimly lit, classy, but still had a lively side to it, especially with the jazz band playing. I really liked the pink lights by the bar area. There's also a small exclusive little room sitting in the middle of the restaurant, blocked off by glass windows. It was blocked off but because the walls were all glass, it was see-through and u can see everything from the outside. It would be fun to hold a personal gathering in there. Didn't get to check out the 2nd level, even though I really wanted to! Pretty much the setting of the place was pretty cool, liked how everything looked and felt. Food-wise, I got the: +SASHIMI MORIKOMI:pretty good and fresh sashimi. It was an assortment of salmon, tuna, white tuna, and hamachi. 2 piece of each. Not the best sashimi I've ever had, but it was definitely decent. +WILD PACIFIC SALMON: didn't regret getting this as my entree. I've always been a fan of salmon, and this was definitely delicious! the seasoning and flavoring was very good, and the portion was a pretty good size. +CARDAMOM SUGAR DOUGHNUTS: this was probably the worst choice that I made in my meal tonight. It was good but there was nothing special about it. just fried doughnuts. the STRAWBERRY PAVLOVA was definitely way more delicious! Tasted like macaron, even though it wasn't. Omg it was just sooo yummy!! definitely should get it! Drinks-wise, we didn't order anything cuz we brought our own bottle of wine. They charge $20 for corkage though, so take that into consideration. The service was overall pretty good. When we told them that we were celebrating one of our friend's bdays, they gave us a free round of shots at the end! The vodka with strawberry and lime juice was actually pretty good too! Tax and tip was included in the bill, which was interesting. I thought usually we'd decide our own tip, but I guess it's easier this way? Definitely a good experience and I'd recommend it for future dates!
