If you still have energy to burn (or still need time to sober up) and everything else has closed down 2am, this is the place to go. They stop serving drinks at 1:50, but the dance floor is still popping 'til the wee hours of the night (until 6am, according to a friend). We made our way here at about 1:45am, our third stop and final stop of the night. There was a small line outside the door and we waited about 15 minutes to get in. I had the minimal with me (ID and phone), wearing skinny jeans and a camisole, so there was no reason for me to get the pat down, but my other friends got patted down (supposedly for alcohol according to that same friend). I had no idea what I was in for, but after the $20/person cover, we made our way past the huge circular bar and onto the dance floor. Everywhere I looked there were half naked men dancing it up! Turns out, it's a gay bar with buff dudes. There were a couple go-go dancers on stages (one half naked male and a girl dressed in head-to-toe fishnet stockings). There were also a few couples, some older guys (probably as old as mid 50's!), and some girls who looked like regulars. This diverse crowd seemed pretty friendly, though -- just a bunch of people looking to have a good time. One girl obviously had a little too much and full on fell down on the dance floor, taking her boyfriend with her, but no one got mad. People around her helped them up and made sure they were okay! Now, that's a friendly crowd! Outside, there's a garden area with a waterfall, fountain, and seating. There's also another room with pool tables, a fake fireplace, and art on the walls that's lit up by a black light. The bathrooms were typical club style, without a door and as tiny as possible. The music was definitely more techno club style, but I can't complain because this place was open past 2am! For what it is, this place is pretty awesome, but by the time we rolled out at 2:45am, I was done. Another crazy adventure for the books, that's for sure!

Perhaps I'm biased having grown up in a town where boats and beers go together as naturally as bacon and eggs... but Frying Pan is heaven. Yes, the rumors are true: it's overpriced. But in my opinion, if you're paying for overpriced beers in Manhattan (which is practically inevitable), why not do it on the water with one of the best views of the city? When I went, I ordered the Caesar salad and while it it is certainly not the best food I've had in my life, it hit the spot and was less than $10. Pitchers of beer aren't cheap, but definitely a better deal than ordering glass after glass of beer. While there's a lot of seating, it fills up quick, no matter what time or day of the week. I went around 7:00 on a Tuesday and every seat was filled from the time I walked in until the time I left, probably around 12:30. If you've got options though, I'd say the best view (and definitely the best breeze) is on the top deck all the way at the rear of the restaurant. Definitely a great place to venture to at least once during the warmer months of the year, regardless of whether you're a New York native or a tourist stopping by for the weekend!

Excellent venue for dancing and holy cow! easy parking!  The music selection was great and the dancers on the floor, even better.  Sadly, my friends and I were stuck in traffic the night we went, so we had to miss the 8-9PM lesson in order to finish dinner (which is doubly sad because my friends are just learning to dance and my skills are rusty at best), so we will all definitely have to come back again! The atmosphere was very welcoming and a few generous souls even helped teach a couple of my friends some moves, which was so, so kind of them.  Autumn himself greeted us at the door and seems like a super nice guy.  Next time we head out to the city hopefully the traffic gods will be kinder to us!
