by Camille Lamb on Wonderful Jazz and Outstanding Food! We have been going to Yoshi's San Francisco since March 2008, shortly after they first opened. We have seen incredible musicians such as Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Palmieri, Ramsey Lewis, Pete Escovedo (and his awesome family), David Benoit, Pancho Sanchez with Nicholas Payton, Jake Shimabukuro, Sheila E., McCoy Tyner and many others. Our favorite New Year's Eve was 12/31/2008 when we saw Eddie Palmieri and La Perfecta II. What a way to celebrate! The food is fantastic. We absolutely love the spicy geisha and crispy spicy hamachi rolls. We have also enjoyed both their miso marinated cod and salmon. And the garlic and shallot edamame is a must to start off with! The service is normally first rate in the restaurant. In the jazz club, the service can be less predictable. In the jazz club, it is best to arrive a little early and order early so that you are sure to get your order in time. Overall, Yoshi's is one of our favorite places for both music and food!
by Lynn Boehnlein on This place screams Awesomeness!! I totally agree with Brett H. I love the new look of Halo and the crowd is great- very diverse, which is hard to find in Atlanta. This is a great place to bring out of towners as well as if you want to just want to have a good time. The DJ is great on Saturday night. The bartenders are extremely nice- I spilled my drink and he made me another one for free! Did I mention that the cover is free-$5 and the parking is only $5! Can't beat that at all. Great job Halo :)
