by charles bukaki k. on The Good: This place has a beautiful interior. You will feel like you are back in the 1920's. It is also extremely a very large venue. I feel like I could get lost in this place. The drinks are awesome, with various absinthe drinks on hand. The crowd is very attractive and laid back. It gets crowded but drinks aren't too hard to get a hold of. This is downtown, so the trendy, sneering, Hollywood atmosphere hasn't infiltrated this place...yet. Good for: Large groups, meeting people, impressing a date The Bad: Get here at 10pm on weekends. Otherwise settle in for a LONG wait in line(though onetime the doorman was open to a 20 dollar bill). And if it's midnight, forget about it. GUYS MUST WEAR DRESS SHOES, which is fine, just stay away from the square toe kind. Bad for: No dancing here Bottomline: If you don't mind getting dressed up and arriving a bit early, the best bar in LA.

Here are some quick takeaways from what I can recall: - Upscale decor - House/Techno w/ DJ - Highly expensive - Bottle service available - South Beach clientele - Miami style. Translation: your chances of getting in = the sluttier and douchier. - $40 minimum for credit cards
