by Francine L. on Came out for Dim Mak's Cannonball Sundays event with table reservations for our bday gal. Found free street meter parking (bc it was Sunday night) about a block away, but there's valet and $10 lots down Gower. We were told to be there by 10:30, but our table wasn't ready until 11:30 almost 12. When we finally got inside, I was wondering what the wait was all about. There were so many open tables. Maybe not enough people to man the tables, then? Or the old club tactic to wait until enough people are outside waiting before they let anyone in? Who knows. In hindsight, the wait wasn't so so bad bc we got a chance to hang outside at the pool and hit up the bar. Not to mention, we had some time to snag pictures with Glee's Puck and Finn =X May very well have been the highlight of the night! LOL yup. One of the many celebrity sightings at Drai's. Drinks are Hollywood priced. $12 and up. Pricey, but they put your money's worth of alcohol. Drinks are stiff! When finally at the table, service was great. I asked a server to bring out a carafe of water for our drunkards to sip on. I expected the usual 10-15 minute wait, but he came back within 5 minutes. Gotta love that. The outside pool area is so nice. For the ballers out there, try scoring a cabana or the table around the fire pits. Cute ambiance outside. Almost like a mini Vegas joint. Inside is equally as fancy schmancy. Decent sized dance floor that became super packed by 12ish. Pretty surprised by the big crowd. Dim Mak really knows how to summon the masses - they turned my lazy day into Sunday Funday. Maybe it was the awesome music lineup of their usual Cannonball resident djs and special guest Diplo? ;) Had a great time, but I probably wouldn't come back unless I could simply saunter in like this time. I've heard the Drai's horror stories of passing the velvet ropes. No fun that way, right?
by Eva L. on not a great experience for me. I guess we picked the wrong date with the playboy event together. We went there not too long after they open. When i approaching the entrance, i was like are you SHXTing me. The line was wrapping around and around. We waited, waited, waited.......... after 30 mins, we waited and waited with some question marks on our head.... after 60 mins, we were getting pissed off cuz other non-asian were walking straight in there....*seriously* after 90 mins, they finally let all the ladies in, but not the gentlemen. The club was empty inside. after 150 mins, A friend of us wants to get our $$ back cuz no men of our group can get in. they went to another club, and i went home feeling $$%#%$##. The end.
