On my first trip to West H., we flew into to town and ran the gamut the whole night. This one stuck out among all of the others. We gays here in the Bay Area NEED an ultra cool place like this where the staff are all friendly, where the go-go dancers, who are not only G-G-Gorgeous, but nice. My friend and I went out to the front patio and the dancer came out on a break and chatted us up. (we obviously looked "out of town") none the less, the music was really good for being so early, and....to that absolutely drop dead muscular stud of a bartender at the patio bar with the INCREDIBLE dark eyes and beautiful smile, thanks for being such a doll!!!!! I shall see you all very soon! Joshua

I decided to make my 1st Woodfire visit the other night. I enjoyed the thought of eating the food of a pseudo-celeb chef, plus the guy is just so freaking likeable on Top Chef. The food was all very good. For starters I tried the scallop, heirloom salad, and the salmon tartare. I had the duck as an entree, which was phenomenal. I'm not sure as to how helpful these suggestions will be considering that the menu changes daily. The ambiance is neat in the restaurant- especially since the kitchen is right there to watch. Service was good. The food took a while, but that's cool with me, it just gives me more time to enjoy my wine and chat with my company. As you can see I only gave Woodfire 3 stars. This is for EXTREMELY small portions and VERY high prices. In my opinion, $14 for 1 scallop, $10 for 1/2 of an heirloom tomato, and $28 for 1/2 of a duck breast is a bit exorbitant. I'm not a big eater and I left hungry, which should not be the case when you're paying $200 for 3 people to dine.
