So, I read reviews before coming here on a Saturday night and I gotta say, everyone was pretty on-point. I got there at 11pm and had to pay cover ($7..heads-up..it's cash only), and the club was poppin' ...crowded as hell, BUT the cool thing was that there were 2 rooms with different music (and different crowds, at that). The main dance floor is off to the left once you walk in - there's a stage in there with the DJ, who was, I might add, spinning pretty freakin' awesome music. There was a lot of old school hip-hop and reggae, and very little top 40 nonsense - no house or techno - whew! The bar is also on this dance floor so it got pretty crowded. And with all those people standing around, it gets hard to actually dance. If you want some air, you can wander into the other room, where there's another DJ with a smaller dance floor and smaller bar. Mmmk, so although I liked the club itself, I wasn't too thrilled about the area it was in. We had to park on the street in a residential area just around the corner from the club. It wasn't in the best neighborhood...one where you'd need to be aware of your surroundings so you're constantly looking around for any creepers following you. There's valet parking, but I think it's $11 or somethin.. Nevertheless, I'm definitely coming back here cuz it's rare to find a club that'll spin old school. Oh, last thing - even though it's cash only for cover, you can use your card at the bar :]

Susy effing C has not gone out dancing in months. The rateclub Elite event at Mighty does not count. My (_|_) has been itching to shake what my mama gave me. So I got the call that it was a pal of mine's birthday and I said GREAT! Now i've got an excuse to dance! But really, do you EVER need an excuse to dance?!?!? Susy effing C + 5 gals got dressed to the nine and headed over to Icon. Then it dawned on me... Wait a minute, i've been here before but it was called something else back then. Oh wonderful, I didn't like it. WONDERFUL. But in I went and shake my groove thang, I did. So this place is small. It's got an awkward setup like Sake Lab, but they had to make do with what they've got. Nice try though. 1 star for quick bartenders 1 star for strong drinks (had a sip of my classmates AMF, good lord it was BITTER) 1 star for having 2 women's restrooms. If there isn't any street parking, just give up and park in the lot behind California Carpets for $5. (_|_) (_\_) (_/_)(_|_)
