Where do I start with this hotel? It was my 23rd bday and wanted a nice get-a-way in LA with my girls. The pics looked nice so we paid almost $300/ night for a regular superior room. The lobby was gorgeous so when we got there we were excited. We went up to the 6th floor where our room was and it was sooooo disappointing. The room was tiny, the beds were hard, the bathroom & carpet was very outdated (green & white old tile on the shower & ugly old green carpet) and the wood on the furniture was scratched up really bad. The bathtub was peeling off and looked like if I touched it with my foot it would have cut my foot. We went down stairs to the lobby to complain about our room ( how it did not match up by any means with the pics online) and the front desk girl ( who was very young and immature) told me that "this was a party hotel and that all of the rooms looked the same" I asked her I didn't pay to stay in a party hotel and that meant ugly, tiny, scratched wood rooms? And she laughed and said yes all the rooms are like that from all the parties. I asked to speak with a manager who upgraded our room to the cabana side and free drinks. That room was okay but only came in a king bed room(which was also small). But the decor was alot better...although I didn't understand the concrete shower ( it made me feel like I needed flip flops in it). I gave them 2 stars because the assistant manager did upgrade our room (if not we were leaving) and the restaurant inside (24 hr burger) had great food & drinks. If your looking for a nice place and don't want to spend a few hundred dollars on a hotel room that is no nicer than a motel 8 probably then this is not your place... don't waste your money. I recommend Hotel Palomar (a kimpton hotel) which is cheaper and wayyyyyy nicer or SLS, which is also a gorgeous hotel but more higher priced.

Came in here on a Thursday night spent scouring the outer Sunset for dive bars with two friends. This place is a dive. The bartender had to slide my ID through the machine to verify that I was indeed 26, I guess this place has a policy of carding those who look younger than the average age of 54. I think it was grandpa who was passed out in his chair next to the pool table. The best part was that there was also a younger asian guy who was passed out with his head in his arms and a lit cigarette in one of his hands. The only redeeming feature of this bar is the old-school video game machine that has pacman, frogger, 1942, arkanoid, galaga, and others.
