by Rachel N. on A solid 2.5--went on a Saturday night for a friend's birthday--here's a run down: Plus--we called the night of and were still able to get a table--which is 100% the way to go, all you have to do is spend $50 and you're golden, and you avoid the cover charge before 10:30 I think? It got pretty packed by 11, the dance floor became a mob scene with primarily good songs, a bit of top 40s, some old MJ, you know--the real scene was upstairs where they unleash the ZEBRA PRINT CARPET and STRIPPER POLES. Although you might assume I would have been all over that, after watching one too many awkward Asian dudes trying to impress their lady friends on it I decided that it was probably going to be a pass for me. Oh, that's another thing, the clientele is mostly Asian, so if you're used to the Marina, or even the Mission hipsters, this may be a bit out of your comfort zone. The drinks were pretty good, averaging around $9-10--though my biggest expense for the night ended up being several rounds of soda water with lime. Would I go back? No, but the birthday boy had fun, and it did provide me with some truly top quality people watching.
by jaclyn c. on can we say....dungeon? well that was my initial perception of DNA when i entered. but then again when i entered the doors 3 years ago i was still the unexposed "virgin" island girl...with that past me let me tell you that DNA is a place that i let it all hang out. oomph sound system combined with some of my favorite dj's and of course alcohol makes it a starry night.
