by Franklin Milliner on 2 stars for atmosphere, one for the food. Doesn't get more Atlanta than the sprawling intown drive-in, so sure, bring the out of towners. Just don't expect much from the menu. Hot dogs are better than the burgers, the fries and onion rings have always been bleh, save the calories and get a FO or a chocolate shake.
by Daphne H. on OMG. Morimoto-San you are my hero. This was a must-do on our list when we planned to come to Philly for a weekend. I love this restaurant! The ambience (the lights change color), the menu, the food, the service. EVERYTHING was impeccably good. I had the $120 omakase and J had the $50 chef's selection of sushi & sashimi. We were blown away by our meals. Every dish in my 8 dish course was AMAZING! Every taste and bite was sooo good, I wanted to cry out with joy. The fish was very fresh, and though I'm not the biggest sashimi fan I gobbled up all my fresh fish with great satisfaction. My tip: if you want a sampling of the entire menu, go for the omakase and be hungry :)
by Eric Niu on Absolutely, the Georgia Aquarium deserves its five stars - it is as good as an aquarium gets. It gets to 4 on scale alone (with the headline 6.2 million gallon tank), but what makes me rank it above every other aquarium is the careful thought given to individual exhibits and how they work as a whole. For example - the cownose rays can swim up on shallower shoals in the touch-tank when they want clumsy if enthusiastic petting, and then can circle in the deeper center when they're over-stimulated. Otter training and feeding are set at advertised times, so that I can bounce like a 4 year old after a shot of starbucks and squeal. (I have no shame when it comes to aquatic tube rats). In any major exhibit, there's at least two viewing areas, and an easy flow pattern that allows new guests to replace those who are moving on to the next area - I felt comfortable to sit as long as I liked at the Beluga exhibit as well as the deep sea tank, a very rare treat. Being able to watch enormous whale sharks in a manner that's more contemplative than "Oh, there it is, take a picture - let's see what's next!" is what made this is a 5-star experience. GA is a master of presentation - walking through the first half of the deep sea tank exhibit had me excited enough to hold my fiance's hand and gasp in delight as we finally rounded the corner to see the tank presented in a scale that I previously reserved for IMAX theaters. Some advice: try to hit the place as early as possible. Go to bed early if you have to. We showed up at 8:30 AM to zero parking hassle and a 30 second wait for tickets. We were able to browse the exhibits, and caught the otter feeding & training, the beluga feeding and both deep-sea tank feedings with minimal planning. However, all we could do was say "I'm glad we came early" as we left to enormous crowds and what we guessed to be long, long wait times.
