by Candace C. on seriously rateclubsers, a 3.5 average for the most unimpressive and overpriced restaurant in all of philadelphia? 2 stars solely for ambiance and decor. the hostesses are snooty, the food is mediocre. the food is acceptable only when you're not paying. in a foodie town like philadelphia, i cannot understand why anyone goes here. i guess its the only "upscale" Asian restaurant in west philly. ehhh not impressed.
by Jane L. on Bumpin' Grindin' Pricey. It just so happened that my first date with the Bubble Lounge included two LARGE birthday parties for two beautiful Asian gals. Top lounge bustled with mid 20's to early 30's crowd, sippin' on champ, enjoying gaiety and small talk in biz suits. Enter downstairs to find multi-ethnic pop, drop, and lockin' young 20 somethings gettin funkay (and dirtaayyy) in a sauna (not literally you fool) reminiscent of an over packed freshman year frat party. Too many people, too much al-kee on the floor, girls boobies bouncing all over the place, boys drooling unforgivably. But at the end of the day, The Bubble Lounge is definitely an entertaining gig with free dancing (no cover!) where you can pretend like you've made it in the big time because you're sippin on a "premium" champagne but can't tell the difference between it and your beloved Coors. Romantic rouge drapes the walls and floors, while plush, sensual couches for *almost* two, enhance your game for the night. $$$14-50+ for a drinky drinky.
