12th Air Command is a weird and wild place.  It reminds me of what a bar would look like if it were conceived by Maculay Culkin in "The Good Son"...fun with a liberal seasoning of danger. I've only been here once and I had a blast, however, I spent the entire night wondering if I was ever going to make it out alive. It had nothing to do with the company that I kept.  The birthday boys that I was there to celebrate aren't the most violent bunch (more inclined toward Beauty than the Beast), but I still had the nagging suspicion that if I took a wrong turn in this multi-leveled, Prague-esque, Communist-era club of a place that I may never find my way out. I could vividly picture falling through some long-forgotten trap door, shouting for help to no avail, crying myself to eternal sleep in a secret lair...my head resting gently on the lap of the skeleton of the last guy that foolishly decided to poke around... I can summarize the evening in a simple list fashion: Gays...check Strong Drinks...check. Friendly Bartenders...check. Cool roof-deck...check. Chips and M&M's Buffet...check. Pervasive sense of dread...check. Creepy Grab a Stuffed Animal Claw Machine...check?

I went here as part of a Party Bus that I arranged for my fiancee and my friends on 3/21/09. The layout was nice with the the first level more of a lounge with a smaller dance floor and the second floor with a larger dance floor, vip areas and its own bar. I honestly don't remember exploring the first floor at all because I was really faded. My group made our way upstairs (this was around 10pm when we got in) to hit up the bar that wasn't being used. The security dude kicked us out saying that the upstairs would be open in 10 minutes. Minus half a star since we were buying drinks, but I guess I could understand that they want the first floor to fill up. I was already faded by the time I got in so I didn't need a drink anways, so I can't rate them on their drinks. What I could say is that the crowd was good, pretty chill, my friends were dancing with random girls, I think I was dancing with a random girl while waiting around the bar, and everyone was dressed decently. None of the people in my group got kicked out, so that's a plus and I didn't feel like a sardine, big plus! I wouldn't mind going back again.
