2 stars when sober, 5 stars after a few... after 10 years, i still find myself ending up at this bar. music is good for dancing. it gets crowded and the crowd looks real attractive after a few ;)

First off, I must say and admit that I am not a dancer. Yes, I can have some drinks and dance with the best of them but actual technical dancing is another story. So after hearing about Cafe Cocomo's Monday night salsa lessons, I thought it was worth a try. We had a lot of fun but even the intro lesson was a little difficult for me to learn. After a while doing the same very basic things I was starting to get the hang of it but adding another twist was difficult for me to pick up. The instructors were very helpful and didn't frown on anyone who wasn't really able to pick up what they were trying to teach. The only downside I would say is that they asked for partners to rotate so I was dancing with a different girl for a majority of the time. While this would have been fine if I had a bit more experience, it was a bit awkward to be messing up with people I didn't even know. After the lesson we stayed and saw some real dancers and I was very impressed and hopefully someday I can be out there like them. Until then I will always have Mondays at Cafe Cocomo.
