We just had our high school reunion here. The snob in me was not happy about the venue choice - after all, it's high on the B&T factor, and we grew up right outside the city. I thought we should know better. I was more disappointed in what the charged us - we had the main room from 6pm-10pm on the Friday after Thanksgiving, and were charged $45 a head. Call me crazy, but that is one dead night for nightlife in the city, and I think it could have been done for less. To be fair, we had 2 drink tickets and passed apps, but I still don't think that was an appropriate price point given the night. We had enough drop ins that night that they ran out of drink tickets, and I was disappointed Temple didn't offer more. At the very least the club shouldn't have been open to the public at 10. In summary.... $45 a head for your reunion? At Temple, probably too much. Meeting your high school boyfriend's new boyfriend? Priceless.

Seems like the management really cares about their reputation at Infusion...The manager emailed me about my review. I like that! Now, my clubbing days are over, but I still like to go out once in a while. When the hype died down a bit, I decided to go with a group of girlfriends. Yes, girls. Now, call me crazy, but I don't like to wait in line. Especially when there is a cover. So, when we had to wait in line for over half an hour, I was already pissed off. THEN, there was the $20 cover...does not make for a happy camper! I'm cheap..so what! So....tried this place a few times. Decor and everything is very nice. Nice bathrooms too, clean and enough for everyone! No long line!.. Bouncers are pretty rude and self important. Lines are long. But I guess they want to keep it exclusive, which is a good thing. If you can get past that, you'd probably have a great time. I'm sure if I was 19 again (which most girls are) this place would be awesome for me. Alas, am not 19. But it is a nice place. I have gone back a few times.

Pretty damn good. I'd go 4.5 if I could. We popped in after failing to get into our sold out show at the Alamo, and I'd seen this new joint as we were pulling in. (Apparently it's been open 5.5 mos, but the hubs + I don't make it to this area too often now...) Anyway, definitely not what I expected interior-wise -- I was impressed by the overall casual-poshness (read: to me, fancy w/o the stuffiness) (okay, and the smooth leather banquettes) -- my husband thought the place was going for upscale sports bar, if that helps a bit more. The dim lighting kinda irked me, but maybe that's cuz I'm a little hard of seeing anyway. We ended up splitting their chicken fried chicken, which came with a potato puree (read: mashed potatoes) and green beans -- Divine. No lie. Loved it. My husband scraped his plate, and he never does (being both picky + a small-eater.) We also split the Southwest Fried Rice -- seemed kinda wrong, reading the description -- I really am a food-traditionalist, I've found, and I'm not a huge fan of reinterpreting dishes. Terrible, I know. But this rice was Delicious. Like, almost heaven-level with that chicken fried chicken (I mean, that chicken was juicy, great texture, flavorful) -- The rice was spicy (I could see + taste the fresh-chopped jalapenos); the pork that was supposed to come in the rice wasn't visible but I was totally fine with that, cuz everything about it was Yummy. Anyway, I sure hope this place sticks around. At least til I try a few more of their dishes. I'm so easy, I know -- I'll update next time we try this place...
