Was at Middlesex last night for the first time and it wasn't bad. My typical go to dance spot is Gypsy and the crowd here is a bit younger than there (which is nice). Definitely be there before 9 if you want to beat crowds and the cover. I got there at 9:03 and got charged $5. However, the drinks are cheaper compared to Boston prices. Drinks range from $7 cocktails to $11 glasses of wines. I didn't try the food menu, but it looked pretty scanty. The music is mostly meh. It is pretty dead from 9 PM to about 10:30ish/11PM and up until then the music is entirely random. Past that, the music is a recap of my college years (think 02-06) with even more random music thrown in. Recap of college dance music is fun, but I wish the DJ would be more consistent in his repertoire. Otherwise, a not so bad place to hang out on Saturday night.

I went here for the first day above seventy since 2009. It was wonderful. They don't really have a good selection of beer, or food, but being on the water, outdoors when it is nice is great. It's a series of a barge, and two boats and you can sit anywhere. They allow dogs and $25 for a bucket of beer, 6 beers isn't bad for Manhattan. I can't wait to go back when they are open for the season and they are stocked up.
