I had a horrible night while I was here. I could not wait to leave. However, this had absolutely nothing to do with the food or service here. The food was enjoyable, the show was entertaining, and the ladies were as gorgeous as they were polite. I arrived with a few of my friends here while we waited for the rest of our party to show up. Apparently if you have a party of 6 or more, you have to chose from the large party menu, the Gold, Platinum or Diamond with a set list of courses (you get every dish listed under each menu). After we chose one, we found out last second that the other people in our party bailed so we had to cover the flakers for the $400 something bill. By then, it was too late to cancel any of the food. I was completely pissed off by the time the second course came around. The ladies were extremely nice, especially our waitress Dee(sp?) (she was the hottest one there!) If my mood wasn't ruined, I would've enjoyed everything more. But just based off of the food and amazing service, I will come here again.

I ate at Yoshi's fairly recently and had a horrible experience which I outlined in the email below that I sent to Yoshi's manager and owner. I sent this on July 7th and it has been over a month and a half and I have not had one word of response from them so I am posting this Rateclub review. I do not give many one star reviews but I am giving one to Yoshi's and will never eat there or tell my friends to eat there again. This is the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. See below for details. Hi, My name is Cathy T and I am writing you about my recent experience dining at your restaurant. I made a reservation for Friday, July 2nd for 8:00 for my husband's birthday and we also had tickets to see Ottmar Leibert at the club at 10:00. I read on your site that we should allow an hour and a half for dinner before a show so I thought that two hours would be plenty to enjoy a leisurely meal and make it to the show on time. However, the pace of our service was incredibly slow that night and I am extremely disappointed. We were seated promptly at a nice table and then things went downhill from there. I have no complaints about your bussing staff but our waitress was incredibly slow, it was fifteen minutes before we even saw her and then she showed up to take drink orders. We had already decided what we wanted to eat by then but she promptly left as soon as she took our drink orders and before I had a chance to tell her we were ready to order food. We then waited another fifteen minutes in which time we saw other parties seated and have their orders taken. We finally flagged her down at which she informed us that our drinks were almost ready and was about to leave but then I mentioned that we were ready to order. She took our orders and then left at which point we did not see her again for thirty minutes. During this time the majority of our food arrived but at this point it was about forty five minutes to an hour before we had gotten any food and I was starting to be concerned about time. We got a combination of Asian starters, rolls and the Wagyu beef sampler. We got everything at once except for the Wagyu beef platter. When that was brought to the table we had no silverware left and the nature of the dish was such that you would need a knife and fork to eat it not the chopsticks we had. Our waitress showed up again (this was only the third time we had seen her over the course of an hour and a half) and said she would get us silverware which we did and we were able to eat the beef trio but at this point it had gone cold from us waiting for the proper utensils to eat it with. At this point it was 9:45 and while I would normally have liked to order dessert I was concerned about making it to the show on time. The couple next to us were having the same issues with our waitress and we both asked her at the same time if it would be possible to get dessert at the club. At this point the waitress informed us that while the show was publicized to start at 10:00 it would in fact be starting at 10:30 so we would have plenty of time to order dessert which we did. We ate our dessert quickly and paid our bill which took another twenty minutes. At this point it was about 10:20. We went over to the club next door for the concert and were dismayed to find that contrary to our waitress' assurances the concert had already started. As you can see from the above, our experience at your restaurant was not optimal. For such a beautiful restaurant and the level of food you are trying to put out the service was simply unacceptable. I am willing to overlook the slowness of the service even though I find it a bit of a stretch that dinner at your restaurant should take two and a half hours because I understand that sometimes wait staff have off days or are new but I am unable to overlook the fact that our waitress so blatantly misinformed us about the show start time resulting in us missing a portion of the concert. I'm not sure if she did it to cover for her own tardiness and lack of attention but it certainly seemed that way. I wanted to write this email before I posted anything in a public forum but I must tell you that due to our experience I will not be recommending your restaurant to any of my friends any time soon.

It almost feels like I wasn't at the same club as the other one- or two- star reviews, because I would've given this place four stars had I been at all drunk when I was there. Walked up at about 11:30pm last Friday for my boyfriend's birthday with our friends, and their DJ/promoter friend told us to step around the red rope and take the elevator to the rooftop. The bouncers gave us some looks (but no lip), and the elevator lady ushered us in. The rooftop was, I later realized, very colorfully decorated with couches, cabanas, the usual. The whole area was covered, heated, and had a view of the Hollywood skyline. The drinks were good, though I have no idea what they cost. Our cocktail waitress had a thing for one of our friends so she paid extra good attention to us, and the group as a whole were well-saturated throughout the night. The DJ did his job right, spinning top 40 + electro, and there were the usual dance-offs. A mix of Hoe-lywood girls, guys who want to take them home and subsequently regret the decision, Ed Hardy crews, Russell Brand wannabes, hipsters, jacked-up Katy Perry look-alikes, super Asian girls, pepper in a few older men with hair reminiscent of The Cure's Robert Smith and you've got the crowd. It's a damn shame to read bad reviews for clubs because I realize not everyone has the same experience, but hey - I had a good time.
