This place was awful to deal with for a private event. We booked it over a half year in advance for our wedding reception but ultimately had to cancel the booking about 6 months out when we got pregnant and our plans changed. Our contract stated we could get a full refund on our deposit (which was no small sum - half the total for the space rental and bar tab for the event), and it ultimately took us over 6 months and a trip to small claims court to get the money refunded to us!! The space is really cool, and maybe it would have been a fine event had we held it there, but dealing with the management was a nightmare. I do not recommend you book this venue for a private event, unless you like it when people who you paid a bunch of money to ignore your phone calls and give you the run around when when you try to work within the stipulations of your contract. Booooooo, Project One!

I would give 4.5 stars...minus 0.5 because really there shouldn't be a $7 cover to go out in this area and also it was a little crowded...but I loved loved loved the music...definitely the best reason to go. Better than your average top 40s mix - you get some old school, some reggae, some latin flavor. A great place to go dancing. I went on a Saturday night. There are 2 rooms with pretty similar music. It started getting pretty crowded around midnight. Also, the crowd isn't the best for mingling - I would suggest coming with a group because going if its just a group of girls, you may be hoarding off guys all night. Overall a great find for going out in Silverlake.

This place is HUGE. If you get there early, the place seems deserted, but as ppple come plowing through the doors, it doesnt' seem nearly big enough! I'd say there are about 4 parts to this place. The entrance will walk you right past the japanese styled garden/"river"/ minlging area - very cool outdoor loungy feel. Then you walk through a small bar/lounge/dance area that plays hip hop, etc throughout the night. I say this area is small, but people fill this room up like CRAZY! I swear if you stand outside looking in, people are smashed up against the window! If you're looking just to pass through, I suggest going around and taking the long route. Past this small room is another outdoorsy area that's partially covered and leads into another dance/bar area. Its good a good place to grab some air btwn dancing, hanging out /standing aroudn to meet pple. The last room is pretty large and usualyl place dance/techno. Its very white and has different color/patterened ights to change up the colors of the room. Also there are tvs that play the most non-sensical ... images? videos? Its actually quite interesting to watch. I also think this is the only room wher ego-go dancers come out.
