by Vy N. on I came here to see Vitalic back in February with a huge group of people. We finished our dinner, got there early and already there was a long line in front of the club. No one knew which line was which - I walked up to the front and saw that Will Call and Purchase were the same line! What the hell is the point of will call then? Ticket purchases were cash only... possibly a promoter problem and not the club's fault, but either way it was still inconvenient. It took us about an hour to get into the club. At least while waiting in line we got to peep the kind of peeps that would be there. A pretty mixed bag... the crowd was all over the place. Again, maybe a result of the promoter (Blasthaus). Inside, there was a small hallway where a photographer was taking pictures as people arrived and then immediately after leaving one line you're presented with two more - one for the bar and one for coat check. The setup tonight had no tables and no seating on the main floor so we waited in line again for coat check. The upstairs lounge is where you want to be - from our seats on the long couches we could see both DJ booths and the whole dance floor. The lounge has its own bar too, with less of a line. Across from this area was the VIP lounge which had an even better view, separated only by a narrow roped-off catwalk guarded by a bouncer. There's a separate bar in VIP as well as the bottle service. As a club, I appreciated the high ceilings and good ventilation. Mezzanine has a great sound system and the sound engineers did a good job so that even upstairs in the corner behind the bar I couldn't hear a difference. Dance floor is too cramped, especially with 2 stages set up and the sound booth taking over the back half of the open space. There are concrete support pillars down the center to contend with as well. Huge negative was the one tiny bathroom hidden under the stairs. Overall I wouldn't come here unless there was a special performance going on.
