by Patsy Chander on I'll just start with the big one. Trigger will rip you off. I ordered a Ketel tonic, and he poured from a Ketel One bottle (I was there). But what came out was very obviously NOT Ketel vodka. Or any other brand of vodka. I passed this drink around a group of 5, and everyone's reaction was WTF!?! So, they'll defraud you. 1 star. I did have my drink replaced after complaining, but what came out of a second Ketel bottle was also not Ketel -- I think they just bumped me up to Sky! Not sure what to make out of that. The rest of it... was also so bad... I was there on a Saturday, but they were playing retro wuss-rock "classics" (yeah on a Saturday night!?!). There was no hint of the salacious dance music that the lush interior suggests should have been playing. It was called "wedding music" by more then one person during the evening. Our hearts went out to the pour go-go dancers, who were wearing these ridiculous Vegas inspired head dresses trying to dance sexy to these crap rhythmless tunes. Cognitive dissonance makes a really bad party theme. But has bad as our experience was, I felt worse for the people in the "VIP" section. I have long not understood why bars continue to have them, but this "exclusive" part of the club is a little balcony with no bar and just one stressed out server running back and forth to the bar down stairs. But maybe a long wait for your drink is worth it if your super-cool status gets you the drink you actually ordered instead of skunk vodka poured from a fancy bottle. I don't know. Literally the only nice thing I have to say about my experience at Trigger is that the bouncers were cool instead of assholes. Skip it!!!
by Meg S. on I've only done the chocolate fondue here but I can only imagine that the ordinary stuff is equally stellar. A group of 7 friends and I made our days-in-advance reservations and headed over. They set us up overlooking the main floor and the pirate ship. Dante came over to introduce himself, welcome us, and chat us up while they prepared the chocolate fondue for serving. He had a story about absolutely everything. When I told him I was an Earth Science major, he told us about an archaeological dig he was supposed to go on in China - he would be the first non-Chinese person to see this site - and how it was canceled due to a dust storm completely wiping out the site. The stories just kept coming as he made his way around the table, asking people their names and majors (we were all in college). Our group was - or so we were told - one of very few to finish the 10lb fruit plate set before us to accompany the chocolate fondue; we had pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, kiwi, raspberries, grapes, strawberries, and assorted other fruits to gorge ourselves on. We were quite proud (and stuffed) of ourselves, and upon seeing the empty platter before us Dante presented us each a Dante's Down the Hatch glass. Fun stuff! I can't wait to go have regular fondue there :)

Lucky me I was invited here for a private party and danced the night away in an intimate clubby setting, if that is really possible to say. Intimate clubby setting...hrm. Don't ask, it just works."
