So one night.... I was craving hot wings and searched for probably 3 hours online to find the Atlanta spot with the best.. Review after review said that the local had the best hot wings hands down. So, I figured... bar... bar food... hot wings...okay, maybe they've perfected them. Here's how it went: Entered Sat Down Friendly waitress approaches 2 Trusty Guiness were ordered Smoke Cigarette Guiness Delivered Order Wings (and he ordered something else...) Wings Delivered BLEHHHHH.... they were drenched with bbq sauce mixed w/hot sauce and while I may have liked this a little on a normal day, it wasn't what I was looking for AT ALL and this isn't what she told me they had. The wings were fatty and slimmmmmmy. No Bueno Chikito! Needless to say, I was disappointed. Other than that, the atmosphere is good. Service was pretty great and the patrons of the evening were fun and loud. Good for drinking all night but not for eating hot wings. :-)

Come here. Come closer. Just a little bit closer. I want to tell you a secret... "Accelerate on yellow." "Kiss the girl." "Make it a threesome" Don't die with regrets. Go to Harlot.

Ive had a couple opportunities to go to Avalon, and I waited to review this place not just based on one visit. Ive seen a couple big headliners here, DJ Dan & just recently Jeff Mills & Richie Hawtin. The venue itself is gorgeous, old architechture with scones, mexican lanterns, velvet curtains. It has a good size main floor, a large mezzanine, and nice little places to sit. Estechically the place is phenomenal. I really do believe in good customer service, it does make the whole experience worthwhile. This place does not encompass that. If you plan to come to Avalon and you have signed up on a guestlist, its usually the longest line outside the venue, it seems the general admission & will call line for people who have overpayed to see a show here get to give them their money first. Also parking is a bitch. Valet is no less then $15-25, & if you valet in front prepare to wait a while because the guys out front take a while to get your car. Security here are a bunch of A-holes. they are rude and have complexes. So make sure you stay on their good side. They are nice to look at but mean as hell. The drinks are around $10 & weak so bring a flask. They have a upstairs terrace room that is really nice during the day, but at night it seems like a dirty kitchen. Overall, the place is overpriced, over staffed and under par. PS..the soundsystem is great.
