Ok let me just start by saying I have been to many places good and bad, and the ruff-stone Tavern is by far the WORST bar none. First of all the bartender, and the bar maids are VERY impolite, rude, and arrogant. I went with my friend when she ordered a drink (kamikaze) it took the bartender about 10 minutes to get to her, also the drink was terrible way too watery a waste of $8.99. When I went to order a beer the bar lady asked if I wanted a pitcher I said "No thank you" she then replied "Wow you cheap Italians are unwelcome here". Next I ordered some chicken wings and they were AWFUL, cold in the middle and the outside was burned, also the fires that came with it where cold an soggy, YUCK! Finally the bartender that was working on Thursday night was serving alcohol to minors, one of them was my sister's friend who ended up getting sick. I am appalled at the terrible food, service, environment, and value. I do NOT recommend to ANYONE! This place is nothing but a joke to the industry! P.S. I would not come back.

mmmmm....The Estate...Tough call!! From the 21-24yr old part of my life, I frequented the BigEasy (Big Cheesey) every other or every weekend. Never a dull moment or bad time. People everywhere, Bachelorette Parties all over, and Bachelorette's tyring to make out with you...Fun Times!! haha!! Eventually the BigEasy became extinct, and redone into The Estate. Now 27yrs old, I've been to Estate a handful of times on Saturday nights. The Music can be awesome...Djs from NYC, Vegas, or LA are there mixin up everything! The scenery is pretty good as well...Girls are all hooker'd up ;). Now the bad parts....Drinks Pricey. $40 for 3 shots of Patron!! $20 dolla cover charge. And, finally..... D-Bags!..lots of them. The D-Bags can be diverse from EuroTrash-ish to the Affliction, Rhine Stone wearin' types. So if you don't wear or have a Affliction T...Get One!...Bust out the BeDazzler so you can Get Rhine stones on your Jeans and/or T's!! Worth checkin out with a bunch of buddies...Girl to guy ratio is like 6:1.

I love Loca Luna, and this new location is even better! I just had my 25th birthday party there last Saturday with 17 people. This restaurant caters to large crowds -- there were at least 3 other birthday groups and quite a few bachelorette parties as well. We were seated immediately -- and our table was conveniently located right next to one of the bars and right in front of the Latin-style band. They even sang happy birthday to me! :) The number one perk about Loca Luna (for large groups) is that they are very willing to split checks. Our waiter split them from the very beginning and got everything right. My boyfriend and I had the hummus, fried potatoes, fish tacos and chicken skewers. He said the fish tacos were the best he has ever had. Everything else was delicious. I also really like their mango mojitos. The service was excellent - even with a jam-packed restaurant full of huge groups. It turns into a kind of Latin club at night because of the band. Lots of dancing and loud music, so if you're into that kind of thing, you'll love it. They also have a huge patio that is probably better for those who want a little quieter dining experience. Overall, I had wonderful time and it made my birthday party the best one yet!

Around since 1873, the history of the Ruffstone Tavern is long and one just recently explored by TAPS or Gohst Hunters. Owned and operated by Sean and Diana Feeley since the early 1990's, the Ruffstone is a rare find. Origional hardwood floors and warm brick colored walls welcome guests immediately. A long bar that houses every beer you can think of and every cocktail you can dream up lures you in. The menu has a traditional Italian flare with a heavy influence on the classics. From the parmaseans to the piccatas, steaks and fresh seafood (best fish and chips I've EVER had!), to wood-grilled pizza's and crab cakes, the Ruffstone has something for everyone. Because the Ruffstone is small, informal, and intimate, Chef Heather MacKnight is on hand to answer any questions you might have. The friendly bar and waitstaff are there to ensure your needs are met as well. Also, the owners are always on site, which is another rarity in this day of chains resturaunts. The Ruffstone also features a late night menu for college students and for those diners who come in after the kitchen closes at 10pm. There is live entertainment every Friday from 9pm to 1am. We were pleasently surprised walking in to this hole-in-the-wall hidden pearl and receiveed much more than we anticipated. The fish and chips alone were enough to feed 3 of us! The calamari had a unique spin served in a garlic-butter hot pepper sauce rather than with just marinara. Both portions were as fresh as they were enourmous. The grilled pizza was a delight topped with spinach, mushrooms, carmalized onions, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella...enough for two, was an unexpected treat. The Ruffstone Tavern is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am-1am and Saturday's from 3:30pm to 1am. If you are looking for a more causual, cozy, and quiant place where your service and great food are the norms, the Ruffstone is it!

Beauty bar backlash seems to run deep around here, but I think this is a fun place if you don't take things too seriously. If the way people in a bar are dressed makes you insecure, you're going to have trouble having fun anywhere. Sure, it's a "concept" bar - glittery walls, hair dryer chairs, manicures in the corner - and a chain. But the decor is fun, the crowd is energetic, and the drinks are reasonable (also, in my experience, generously poured.) I can't imagine ever paying a cover to get into this place - of course, that's my general rule for any bar. Maybe if Car Stereo Wars is playing, I'll cough up 2 bucks. DJs are fun to see here because - gasp! - people ACTUALLY DANCE. That's a rare thing, and the biggest recommendation I can give Beauty Bar. Sometimes you have to wait until 12 or so for the crowd to warm up, but if you like to boogie, it's worth it. Oh, and that unfortunately placed pole in the center of the floor always makes for some entertaining dance moments. Beauty Bar is small inside, and they recently added a stage, which I think was kind of a bad idea. It's just too damn loud to have a live, plugged-in band in such a tiny space. They do have a patio, but it's ruined for me because it becomes the default smoke spot. It's ciggie central out there, and I can almost feel my fingernails yellowing after five minutes. As for the "too hip" factor ... dude, it's what you make it. Personally, I like to dress fun when I go out and I don't mind the fashion-victim crowd - all the better to covertly make fun of. It beats the polo-and-khakis crowd you'll find prowling around Sixth Street.
