by Norbert Kett on My new favorite karaoke spot! It's actually called Fée! from the look of the sign on the building, but I guess that somehow translates to Feel, if only visually. Just came back from a fun-filled night of Total Eclipsing my heart and Truly Madly Deeplying it up and I have to say that I HAVE to have my bday here next year. I went with two galpals, Cristyn T. and Virginia D., not knowing what to expect. We got there, entered through the parking lot through some shady hallway, up some shady ass stairs. And of course we have to pass by the drunk old Korean men being escorted down the stairs. The place looks pretty swanky with a ton of blue lighting and all the employees are dressed to the nines--secret service style with earpieces and all. They look intimidating, but they are all pretty nice. We started by simply asking the girl at the front desk how much a room was per hour. Now, I'm not sure if her English wasn't great, but all she did was flag someone down, pointed to us, and next thing you know, one of the secret service guys waves us to follow him, pulls out two microphones from the wall, and leads us to a room. At this point, I thought we were as good as dead or about to have an orgy, but no, it was in fact a karaoke room. The room itself was pretty cool with a big flat screen on one wall and a smaller one on another wall. The English songs are in the orange section of the book and they have a pretty good selection of old and new songs--enough to satisfy all the musical tastes in the room. We ordered a small bottle of soju for $15, but it was straight soju--no yogurt or lemonade here--just pure shots. boo! We stayed for 2 hours, but we only got charged 1.5 hours. For the room itself, with 3 of us, I thought it was gonna be pricey with less people, but we only ended up paying $10 each ($30 total). Of course, the soju added $15 and a bottle of water added $2, but overall, a really good deal for a great environment and good song selection. It's strange, there's no smoking allowed here, but when I came home, I smelled like smoke...hmmm. BTW, make good use of the tamborines. Oh, and don't forget to turn on the disco ball or the strobe light!!! But not BOTH--oh lordy lord you would explode. I have a question to rateclubsers though: Do you tip when you pay? We tipped $5 because they did bring us drinks, but I'm not sure if that's standard or a tip isn't necessary at Korean karaoke joints.
by Eloy Fergen on They were telling jokes at the door. The bouncer is one funny ass guy. Bouncer: "$15 entry fee." Me: "AHAHHAHHAHAHAHHA!! That's a good one dawg! You're hilarious! Seriously though...there's no ACTUAL cover right?" Bouncer: "I'm serious...$15." Me: "Really?" Being with a group of girls we were able to get in without paying. This place was lame and I would've been pissed if I had paid $15 to get in. They had cheesy old skool rap, top 40's and such. The bartenders were great though. Very nice and quick. The bathrooms were clean, too. I felt old and dated when I looked and saw a bunch of barely 21 kids had filled the place.
