Really great selection of beer. Dozens of bottles -- some obscure ones too -- and about a dozen offerings on tap. This is not your "run-of-the-mill dive bar" as some people suggest. If you're not in the age range of 18-23, Jake's can be kind of douchey and fratty. But it's a large space and they have a pool table as well as beirut. The back room is usually pretty relaxing if there's not a party going on though, if the beer games aren't your thing. Also they have a small outside area, which is always a plus. Never tried the food but it seems like your typical bar fare. But why eat here when you can find a great restaurant in the neighborhood, then come over to Jake's Dilemma after to sample one of the many terrific beers offered? The pricing during happy hour specials is not too shabby either.

This little joint is Klassi, with a K... Why is it not Classy with a C? Let me list off a few things, and if you still don't get it, you can PM me: -You have to be on the guest list to get in before 10:30 without cover (+1 KP*) -There is a reflection pool of sorts in the courtyard just waiting for somebody to fall in (+2 KP) -There is...mud wrestling? (-2 KP) -There are plenty of bars (+5 KP) -People like Wee Man show up sometimes (-5 KP) -The dance floor is elevated, and just waiting for somebody to fall off it (-2 KP) -Sausages and other food is catered in the courtyard (+10 KP) -If you get too close to the velvet rope, you'll get BOUNCED (-3 KP) -The bathrooms are located in the dungeon (-20 KP) -There's amazing lighting (+3 KP) -Alvin slapped me in the face several times and shoved a hot dog in my mouth (+100 KP) -Hot dog street vendors are waiting for you outside at club close (+20 KP) Let's see here.... that gives us a total of..... 110 Klassi points!! Any questions? ------------------------------- * KP = Klassy Point

Wednesdays...best night to go. The mood changes with the art, but even in a the hustle and bustle the bartenders are still pretty friendly. Can get crowded, but you if you are in the mood for a couple drinks but not in "dive bar mode" this can be a great alternative.
