this place is really cool - and you should really go at least once while living in the city. i came on a friday night for the poetry slam. It's really fun and the MC keeps things entertaining. The poets are super talented and when I went they were so young (one of the girls was 17!) - it was really a great experience. Only minus is that we had to stand the whole time b/c we got there close to starting time and my feet started hurting after the first hour. That being said - its a good spot - they serve beer and $4 wine only - but you don't come here for the alcohol, you come here for the talent...and that impresses.

this place has changed names so many damn times in the past ten years it makes my head spin. it was ok. the people i was with clearly weren't fans. it was rock band night, so i am sure the drunk people trying to sing and play the simulated drums did not give me a proper sense of the joint. i did like the vibe. laid back and loud. big wooden booths.

This is a joint venture by Iron Chef Morimoto and Stephen Starr, the owner of 12 super hip and cool places to eat in Philly. It's a big open space with cool artwork on the walls and some cool looking but pretty uncomfy chairs. The fish is fresh and tasty. Try the toro tartare and any of their delish sake. It's kind of pricy so if you are on a budget then don't drink - just eat. They are totally open to you creating your own rolls and dishes too. Service was excellent and they even gave us autographed menus by Chef Morimoto.
