by lizzie p. on Random weekday night around 9pm. The atmosphere is great. The patio with the lights and the fountain is really inviting. We didn't eat but we did drink. The live music is what drew us in here after grabbing dinner around the corner. The guy on stage with the guitar was so great. I'd go back just to listen to him! It was very cozy, not too loud, not smokey, tame crowd, good drinks, good bartender. i'd go back with friends for a pre-dinner drink or an after party spot as long as the music is still playing
by Rowena Trojan on i can NOT believe this place has a 4. besides the novel appeal of being on a boat there is nothing great about this place. i tend to stick to bars with cheap drinks and that aren't overly crowded (i get cranky if i have to wait for my drink longer than it takes me to drink it..) the frying pan failed on both counts. 6 dollars for a corona is not what i consider "reasonably priced".. even for manhattan.. get real. but i guess they were catering to the crowd... bridge and tunnel folk and suits. ugh. and SO crowded, it was ridiculous trying to get anywhere on the dock - and this was on a thursday. i don't even want to imagine what this place looks like on the weekend. also, did not understand what was going on with the music.. they'd play one song.. or half a song.. and then it'd cut out for 10 mins or so... the only fun part is exploring the ship and i generally like outdoor seating so that's where the 1 star comes from.
