Bowling goes upscale at this midtown west location of Lucky Strike. The greeter girl can use her attitude at full blast on a Friday or Saturday night as far as I'm concerned, but at 2:45 Sunday afternoon, she should turn it down a notch. Relaaaaaaax, precious. Three of us went just to play pool ($15/hr - very reasonable) and had a great time. We had 'poolside' service, and even though it's easy to watch the bowlers, you're separated enough from them that there's not a lot of crazy traffic/bumping into people going on. $7 Heineken bottles? Really? It's Heineken. Whatever. All in all, though, good times - would definitely go back to shoot another few rounds of ye ol' billiards.

I believe this is not only the best sports bar in NW/central Austin but it also provides one of the best menus. I have been coming here since last years football season, and have yet to be disappointed. I even had a meeting held in their backroom which introduced me to my favorite enchiladas in Austin. The quality of food is amazing, the green chile beef enchiladas are just stellar, best I have EVER had. Each time I go, I want to try something new. Everything I have tried is just impressive. I have so many of my friends and colleagues eat with me there because you know you are going to get good service and good food. The chop house burger is also top notch, deserving of it's 12th place rank in Texas Monthly. The Cole slaw, is their secret gem, they make it fresh for each order exactly the way you like it. It is both tangy and sweet and really has a great zing to it. From the fries to the ice cream brownie (OMG) cover 3 is a great place to EAT and drink and watch sports.

Tavern on Camac is the friendliest bar in Philly. It's low-key and unpretentious. Show up in your favorite old pair of jeans or your business casual - there's no dress code here. Forget the typical snobby 'tude you find in a lot of gay bars. Just come as you are and be prepared for strong drinks and friendly folks. It's the kind of place where the middle-aged butch lesbian sitting next to you instructs you on the art of making roses out of cocktail napkins, or you find yourself surprised by how many of the lyrics to "Sweet Caroline" you can recall after that second whiskey sour. Don't come expecting another Pure or Woody's. Lovers of TOC come for its hospitality and charm. I had the first date with my partner of almost 2 years at TOC and we still come back on Thursday nights to sit around the piano while Deena Underwood plays. Deena has an incredible voice and has a very warm presence. Come see her every Thursday 'til 9 pm!
