I love the grandness of this place. The gold, the rich velvet colors, the old yet expensive feel you get when you walk in. Came here for the Ray LaMontagne concert and although we were pretty high up (we kept forgetting to order our tickets), it didn't feel like it and we were able to see him really well and the acoustics of the place made me feel like Ray was singing just to me. Drinks were a little pricey, my glass of wine was 7 bucks for a glass that one would give out at a holiday party, so I wasn't loving that as well it was cash only, but I wasn't going to let a glass of wine ruin my night with Ray. Ray was amazing- played all of my favorite songs and did a great encore, all in all a wonderful night.

I went to Sullivan Room last Friday and had a great time. This is not a 'club' but a venue for electronica enthusiasts. People come here for the music and dancing, not to see the amazon models or douchebag meatheads. Maybe it was an off night, but there was no line and a minimal cover of $10. No hassle at the door. Quite friendly staff all around. I remember the place being smaller, but it seems they expanded the left side (left side as you enter the 'room') to allow more sitting space. Long story short, if you want to go where the people go for music and dancing, you can't go wrong with Sullivan Room. If you're some playa looking to pick up a dumb blonde, look elsewhere. Keep it up, SR!

Few bars compare to the 21 club. It's located at one of the worst intersections in the TL, so when I first saw it, I couldn't imagine actually walking in. But upon setting foot in this place Frank immediately made me feel like family. The kind of family that pours you an extra big glass of eggnog at thanksgiving dinner. The sense of community that I felt at the 21 club was unlike any bar I have ever been to. Everyone is a regular, everyone knows Frank, everyone loves the place. On New Years Eve there was a home video playing on the TV showing clips of patrons from forgotten years. I was so moved by the of whole thing that I almost shed a tear into my huge glass of Makers Mark. You will notice that just about every single review mentions Frank. Well, that's because he's a genuine guy and runs an authentic bar. Without question, the 21 club is the best dive bar of all time.
