by Mariah M. on What can I say...Ruby Skye has been my second home for the past year. My first time was November 2, 2009 to see Armin van Buuren, and I haven't stopped coming since! I've seen pretty much every major DJ at Ruby. Beautiful venue, not too big, not too small, AWESOME sound system, MOST of the staff is great. Ruby Skye is the only place I will go in SF, and I can't wait to see who they have in store for 2011! I already got my tickets to Markus Schulz and Laidback Luke, so they are starting the year off with a bang! As an addict of all subgenres of EDM, I will be a loyal customer for years to come.
by O P. on A lot of the negative reviews come from rateclubsers who couldn't get in... I suppose one good thing about the economy being trashed is that it's a lot easier to get into clubs now haha. I seriously saw a dude wearing a hoodie get in. The best part about Opera was the $8 parking lot on Wilcox. Not only cheap and convenient but they also sell hot dogs there at the end of the night. The club, crowd, and drinks was whatevers. Nothing special. The smoking section has a ton of candles. Nice touch so you can save lighter fluid haha. My friend asked me to wing for him so I go end up hanging out with some random girl for 30 or so minutes and then she introduces me to her boyfriend. I mean this whole time my hand is on her back and we're sharing a drink. I'm not that naive, maybe she realized that I'm a dumb ass and wanted me to go away. Or maybe I could've had a threesome (gross). Who knows.
