by Teri S. on Ecco never disappoints me. I always start with a meat & cheese plate, followed by a salad (most recently grilled radicchio with house smoked bacon & pickled fennel...yum). And finally one of their superb pasta dishes. My final course is usually olive oil ice cream and excellent coffee. My husband & I like to walk here when we are staying in Midtown at the Hotel Palomar. Oh & let me not forget about the mussels my daughter offered last night. She is something of a "mussels connoisseur" & said these were among the best she's ever had. Loved that the broth had a wonderfully savory cheese flavor.
by Magali Smugala on No cover and good music. Very small and very crowded. I liked that this place has cheap drinks (~$5) though they were a bit weak and a place for people to sit near the bar. I also enjoyed the music and watching a random guy dance crazily in the corner of the stage while checking himself out in the mirror. The crowd here is pretty diverse and in their twenties / thirties. I didn't see any eye candy though if that's what you are looking for. I only give this place three stars because I hate crowded dance floors where the only thing u can do this bend your knees and nod your head.
by Nobuko Rodriguez on This is a great summer spot - the water, the concept of being on a dock-ey boat like thing while drinking. Riverside bars are the new roofdeck bars, dont you know? Warning - you will want the pitcher of Sangria. Warning - it costs a sh*tload of money so don't get it. Stick to a bucket of Coronas - it'll save you the sugar hangover in the morning. Also, careful going down to the bathroom. The steps are really narrow and I had a friend fall both going down AND up. She's a little special, but be careful nonetheless. One more thing - if you get kind of sick, try not to look at the boats that are docked next to the FP - I was looking at them and felt totally nauseous. I had to adjust positions and afterwards I was fine. But I can see myself getting blackout and looking at the boat accidentally and well.. you know the rest. Definitely a must go in the summer but it gets crowded, so be prepared!
