The best thing about the Majestic Diner is that it's open 24/7, seven days a week. That makes it a popular choice (one of the only in Midtown really) for the late night munchies. I came to the Majestic a handful of times during my days at Tech and years passed before I visited again recently after a late night out. Nothing about the diner has changed, inside or out. The neon sign on the outside of the restaurant says they've been around since 1929. Wow. The Majestic is located near the corner of Ponce De Leon and North Highland. Parking is usually not a problem here since the restaurant shares a surface lot with the adjacent shopping center. The diner serves what you'd expect: breakfast food (eggs, omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc.), salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers, and hot dogs. They also have sundaes and milkshakes. Just basic American fare -- nothing really stands out, but the food here serves its purpose, which is to quench your odd hours appetite. Service was good. When we went, the background music for the restaurant came from one of the owner's iPod playlists. I asked our server because I recognized an obscure song from the "You Only Live Twice" (James Bond) soundtrack. Random, I know.

There was a long ass line...but we got in right away--Score! We had some appetizers at a table and I ordered a Vodka Soda. Bad idea not ordering it straight at the bar. It came back tasting just like soda water. Hmph. No good. The bar area was overly crowded but we got drinks right away. Make sure Blake is your bartender. He'll hook you up with some stiff drinks and is super nice. Expect to normally pay $12 a shot. The DJ played a mix of hip-hop and pop music and was good at it. Overall a great experience and I would come back for a nice place to chill at on a Saturday night.
