by Andrew D. on I rarely come here unless there is a big name DJ. That said, even though I am a Black VIP and Stud VIP Card Holder, most any other night I would not be here. Because Opera does pay the money to bring in some solid DJs I do find myself here every so often. Recent DJs have included Gareth Emory, Hernan Cattaneo from Buenos Aires, and DIrty South from Australia. I like to come here after midnight, grab a table with friends and get hammered. The crowd is often pretty rough, but the music when DJs like the above are there is solid. 2 Stars non-house music nights, 4 stars when talent is booked.

by Shelba Seim on The sound system has never been great, but somehow the spirit of the place comes through in rare moments, and leaves me with a good feeling. I just saw Brightblack Morning Light play for $10, and it was the perfect venue for them. Gotta love the loungey atmosphere, very SF. And the price is almost always right, even on the drinks.
