by Brenda G. on Dined at Maggiano's (Austin) on 12/08/10. Had a pleasant evening and the food was good. Our waiter, Quirk, was very attentive and friendly. The morning after our dining experience, my husband discovered he had left his very expensive leather jacket at the restaurant (on the seat in a booth). I immediately called the restaurant around 8am on 12/09/10 and spoke with Matt Nicholson (Exc. Chef). He told me the General Manager (John) would be in at 9:30am and he would have him call me. 10:30am rolled around and I finally ended up calling and speaking with John. He said he looked and the jacket was not turned in, etc. Said he would call me back. Well, he didn't. My husband went to the restaurant in the afternoon and spoke with him. Said he would talk with our waiter when he cam in. Bottom line....it appears the management at this restaurant doesn't follow up on what they say they're going to do. Because we occupied our table until 10pm or so, I'm sure no one occupied our table after we left. Someone in this restaurant knows what happened to this jacket. Maggiano's /Austin...you just lost a good customer and we won't be gracing their doors again. If you eat here, you'd better not leave anything because you will never see it again and no one cares enough to find out the truth or return your phone calls! Update: So 3 days after this incident, the GM finally called to "follow up" with us about the missing leather jacket. Said he talked to our waiter (too little/too late). Guess he (or someone else in mgt.) read this review. Too bad it had to come to this and you can only get someone to respond if you are writing a bad review!!!!!
