Ooh laa laa, this venue is very bella. Right when you walk in, you are in an outdoor environment surrounded by glowing fountains and dreamy cabanas. I felt like a princess in some fairy tale setting. I forgot to eat dinner before and I was pretty tipsy already from the pre-game, but I definitely followed my nose to the taco man on the side. Gracias amigo! Got in line and received a plate of 2 tacos and while I was busy munching away and admiring the atmosphere, my 2nd taco on my plate got swiped!! Ahhhh, too fast too furious you hungry lil rascals! Anyway, we walked into into the club and there are little rooms that look very classy and almost library-ish. People were just chilling on the couches and there's a bar there too. Tables sit along the perimeter of the club with curtains offering some privacy. The main dance floor located in the center is a decent size, but gets overly crowded. I could barely make my way out there to get my groove on. Boooo! The crowd here is mixed, and beautiful. Music is typically top 40's. Don't know how much drinks are but I'm assuming the norm for any Hollywood club. I didn't like the long lines for the unisex bathrooms (bow chicka bow wow). I found myself relieving myself with a guy washing his hands next to me. Uhhh.... I don't think this was right. Anyway, overall had a blast! I would come back again, but probably decrease the alcoholic consumption because I ended up losing another jacket of mine and my friend lost his phone. Of course that's not the club's fault. So check it out! You will not be disappointed!!

The space is small, decor reminded me of Salt House (not sure why) and I liked the way the tables are set up. I could see how other rateclubers would describe the doormen as.... less than friendly. A friend and I showed up around 10:30 on Friday night, ONLY ones outside and there was a little "checking over the goods" (if you will) before opening up the red velvet ropes. Not like they made us stand there long, but there was no one else there! I guess they needed something to do. Once downstairs, it only took a few minutes to get a drink, then it was time for the critiquing to being. The crowd was unusual for SF, I'm not sure how to describe it other than it was not the typical random crowd. The doormen are definitely doing their job by keeping the same "clientele" in the place or random hip tourists. To be honest, I found it completely refreshing. The music was underground hip hop which is great if you're not at a lounge/club. Not sure why so many places in SF play underground hip hop. You WANT people to dance. They dance they get thirsty, they get thirsty they drink, they drink you make more $$$.. I mean it's a simple concept no? ... sorry for the inserted rant... back to Vessel. I would definitely head back here with a great group of people and a table reservation. It's the only way to go at this place. We left after one drink bc of the music. FYI - Fridays are Hip Hop, Saturdays are House.
