+++Eve's a nice bar with no cover. +++Decor was was hip and feminine - - -Asked the bartender for two shots of chilled belvedere and we got two half shots for $20. I looked at it and wondered WTF but was too drunk to make a fuss about it. I did think about it the following morning though. - - -The music was latin, techno-ish and just wasn't feeling it. I would like to come back for happy hour though. Being we came here on a Saturday night it was probably more "club" like but I think this place would be more enjoyable after work to have a drink and chill.

Alright I hang out in a comedy club on a regular basis so this review may be somewhat biased. Most of my friends are comedians so be forewarned. Comedy in LA is territorial too...I'm not gonna lie. Most comics pick 1 club out of the "Big 3" to stick to and that's how it works. That being said, the Comedy Store is my bread and butter. The Improv though not the worst comedy club in town is definatey not my favorite spot. It's probably my second favorite of the big 3, with the Laugh Factory being the lamest. Mostly because the owner is an arrogant asshole. The Laugh Factory used to be a front for a big cocaine operation, at least that's what I've been told. Ok, back to the Improv. I know comics that travel in between clubs, ambassadors if you will. I don't dislike the Improv, it's just a little too corporate and TGI Fridaysish for me. I won't say the comics in here suck, but the comics at the Store are WAY better. Be prepared for a talking to if you mention another club around town. As Neil V says they will tell you how much "smarter" their comedy is than any other place's. That is a totally untrue statement. Not 1 of the comics in the place tells smarter material than more than half the comics I know at the Store. Like I said...I'm biased though. It's better than the Laugh Factory. It's just a little cheeseballish. All the comics are SO pretentious here...so be forewarned. Pretenciousness reigns supreme at the Improv. I'm telling you...come to the Comedy Store. I'll get you in for free and you'll have a good time. There's a front patio bar that's perfect for people watching on Sunset. And you can smoke in the patio and drink. It's awesome. I mean the Improv is on Melrose...who hang's out on Melrose? You gotta be on the strip bitch. With the movers and the shakers! the Improv isn't that bad. I'm just messin. But seriously...go to the Comedy Store instead! The Improv is good if the right people are there. You pickin up what I'm throwing down?
