by Clara K. on walking to the club, we saw a couple of police officers running at top speed after some guy who apparently bashed some other guy over the head with a beer bottle and then took off. a few minutes later, we ran into the guy who'd been assaulted, stumbling down the street with a bloody shirt accompanied by his angry friends. yikes. bravely, we decided to continue on. maybe it was the $20 we'd just paid for valet. luckily we had met some of the promoters the night before, so we didn't have to pay cover and got in relatively easily. the space reminded me of ghetto clubs in san francisco -- it's definitely not somewhere you go for the decor or ambience. apparently this is the place to go in atlanta if you're into hip hop, but i didn't really hear any hip hop during my hour or hour and a half at primal. with that said, i think we could have had fun if we didn't need to leave early. the music had potential to get better as the night progressed. on our way out, we saw two girls, one barefoot in her short dress with scratches on her legs, trying to argue their way back into the club. definitely an interesting if abbreviated night.
