She Said..." First of all, if your reading this b/c you want to decide whether to go to Genos or Pats steak( which is right across from Genos)....go to PATS!!!!! Its much better. Anyways, this place was not what i was expecting, after eating at pats i was expecting either the same or better since its their competition. Not so much...it downgraded for me. The steak was really thin and not chopped up like at Pats. The onions werent as great either, and the cheese didnt seem warm enough. The bread wasnt all that great either....sorry im just venting becasue Pats was amazing and i expected Genos to be THAT good too, but it wasnt. The fries werent good here either, they were kinda soggy-like. The only good thing was the coke." He Said...."After reading all the reviews on rateclubs saying that Pat's and Geno's were the same, I have to disagree. Geno's bread is harder and I didn't like that the steak wasn't chopped up. They did have coke which is a plus...but their fries weren't that good...tasted like dirty grease or something. We drove from Maryland to Philly just to eat lunch...and we even stood in line at Tony Lukes before we decided on Geno's...so sorry we tried and it was confirmed...Pat's was better."

Really a 2.5. Despite the great company, nice layout, reflection pool, and lighting inside, easy access to bars, clean bathrooms (though in the basement), plenty of space to walk/sit/lounge/chat, this really isn't my scene. I'm grateful that I got in before the $20 cover charge at 10:30 (thanks, CJ for arranging this monster of a list). Although, I just hate standing in line especially if I am on a guest list. I mean, shouldn't the point of a guest list be that there is a line for those who are on the guest list and a line for those who are not? Seriously! What makes me laugh about the Hollywood-line thing is when you walk in and there is tons of room inside despite their notorious, purposeful plan to SLOWLY let people in. Plus, I'm a woman. Not a 10 or a 9, maybe even not on the 8 (especially without my boobs and ass), but a woman. And, inside? COMPLETE SAUSAGE FEST. Great for me, but hello? A LINE for ME? You've got to be kidding me. Plus, right ahead of me, they let in a group of 9 sniveling scrawny d-bag - guys who just kept yelling in line that their company had sponsored the event and the door people didn't know "who they were messing with, and they were gonna straighten this the fuck out ASAP". I felt like saying "they KNOW who they are messing with... a bunch of whiny d-bags". But, I just quietly stood their waiting for my turn. Wow! Why am I ranting? This is so not like me. I meant to write a short review and get back to my day. That side note said... The guy at the front of the line was polite to me (a plus), maybe even a bit flirtatious (I always like that). The staff at the entrance were also professional and courteous (minus the red rope guy who yelled at me for saying hi to my friend who was late and didn't want to pay - sorry, Anthony!). The bartender, Jed, was WONDERFUL! He made great drinks, was funny and engaging, gorgeous, a real gem. He even drew a heart on my receipt. Ah. Nice touch and a well deserved tip for him!!! The dance floor being elevated and small was an accident waiting to happen. Maybe on a non-female wrestler night it's better? Oh, and the female wrestling thing? Um - not my scene either. Maybe this place deserves one more chance?
