I seem to be having a run of bad luck with places that everyone likes lately. Me and my Not-my-Girlfriend tried this place for lunch today, because she was craving soup and a sandwich. It's small and cozy, but I'd hate to be a guy bigger than I am and try to sit at some of those 2-top tables. The counter girl was cute and helpful, so there's a good start. The bread was tasty as well. But that's about where it ended. The tuna salad sandwich was decent. nothing too special, but decent. The french onion soup I ordered with it was pretty much mostly bread. I know that the croutons get soggy really fast, but there was a LOT of bread in there. And past the bread, there were a few smatterings of onion here and there, but nowhere near what I'd expect for french onion soup. It would've been okay if the broth had been anything to write home about, but it wasn't. NMG's sandwich was a BLTA, and had the rather cardinal sin of containing soggy bacon and tomatoes. I understand if tomatoes aren't in season, but bacon is ALWAYS in season! And there's little excuse for soggy bacon. Her clam chowder was also pretty meh. It tasted like yesterday's leftover potato soup with a can of clams in it. Not chowder, my friends. Maybe I'll just come back and buy some of their bread, and make sammys and soup for us at home next time. Or maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Either way, we're not excited about going back. Too bad. I'd like to flirt with that counter girl some more.

This place was amazing! I took my friend here for his birthday to see Sonny Rhodes. He sang about and hour, great music, very bluesy. the food was a bit expensive but worth it!!!! Trust me, try the bbq pulled pork sandwiches on biscuits. Holy crap I'm still dreaming about that sandwich. We also had the brisket that was cooked to perfection, jst fell apart, no knoife necessary. The mashed potatoes were a bit dry, but the greens made up for it. Mac and cheese croqets were pretty amazing too. I def recommend this place for a night out with a bf/gf. great atmosphere, great people, great music, GO!!!!!!!!
