by Alec J. on I went there last saturday night (2/6/10) at 12:30am and the place was not hopping but chill. The bouncher let us in after a 10 min wait and the cover was $25 (GOOD VALUE). Also not a fan of the MANDATORY coat check, i suggest wearing a sport coat, although I was the only dude actually wearing one (EURO TRASH CENTRAL), come on guys, gotta bring back the sport coat! There was 2 hot girls waiting with us at the door and sadly they were the hottest girls we saw all night. This place was not a spot to pick up girls. It's more of a laid back place to bring a bunch of close friends to dance and get drunk. I do respect it's vibe and feel though. There was also a large dude population, seemed like a bunch of dopey european dudes that are chubby and can't dance. They suck up all the air of the normal people. They made this place lose an entire star (BETTER DOOR SCREENING). This place needs to set up a promotion to bring in some beautiful girls. That would make it so much better. Aside from this, the bartenders were great, they were attractive, friendly, and very personable. The girl remembered my name and what type of drink that I liked. Music was well selected and sound system was amazing. The setting is real chill and a good change of pace to a normal club. It feels very european. I recommend coming here with a group of friends or a date at the end of the night 1-3am, this place is not a pick up spot. CREEPING IS FROWNED UPON. HA
by Adam C. on What a craphole, but this was a great place to spend Thirsty Thursdays! Sometimes I miss the days where I can go to a place filled with young people, drink $5 pitchers of Bud and dance until 2am. I stopped going here on a weekly basis by the time I was 22 and I felt like I was on the higher end of the age spectrum. If you want a place where everyone is beyond drunk and having a good time.... you've found it. These days I'd be more likely to take in a fight or a sporting event at The Abbey but I will always remember (maybe not so vividly) my Thursday nights in college that I used to spend at this place. I've been wanting to head back to be a spectator moreso than a participant but I haven't done so yet. Cheers Abbey, thanks for making this a great college party spot!
