by Pia V. on They hold the line all the time, I've been here a good amount and every time I wait in a long line, walk in, and see that the club only has about 20 people in it ... total, including the staff =/. The place does get filled by the end of the night, but it is a little disappointing when you get there 1 1/2 hours before glist closes and STILL do not get in on time =\. This happened three times to us, before we decided that it was enough. My cousins got a room at the connected hotel and was able to get 4 people in for free, but even they had to wait for a bit outside ... in the rain. I do like how they have some tents up to help cover part of the line, but the majority of people were SOL waiting in rain. Some of the security outside were very nice by offering to help random people with directions or guiding people to the correct lines, but others were just horrible. When you walk in you have to walk down a couple levels of stairs, which gets nerve-wrecking when wearing heels/drunk. When you walk in the place looks pretty great. The music is pumping, plenty of bartenders, different dance rooms ... it goes on. I also find it interesting that the bathroom is just one huge one with people running it; pretty cool. The place has so much potential to be an amazing one, but in the end I can't help but feel like I spent my entire paycheck every time I leave. It is just extremely overpriced -- from cover to the drinks. Don't get me wrong, I would've feet cheated out of my money if I felt like the place/drinks/experience was worth it, but it never was. If you're a group of girls, it's your birthday, you have something special to celebrate, or anything on this level then I would recommend this place to you. But as for going out on a regular bases, or as a person who had to attend this place for friends'/family's celebrations I can honestly say that it is a complete hassle to have to go here. Not to mention that parking is impossible in the area. I gave the place 2 stars for it's decor/ambiance and its nice security guard(s) outside, but that's all it's going to get from me until some major changes are made.
by Nikki C. on My fiancé and I had a full afternoon of wedding appointments in SF so I thought the best way to get our day started was with bottomless mimosas. I made reservations 3 weeks in advance. This was our 2nd time @ Lime for brunch. The 1st time was w/a group of friends and we had a blast until they kicked us out of our table due to their 2-hour time limit. WEAK!! But since we had wedding appointments I didn't fret about the time limit. On my first encounter w/Lime I had Huevos Rancheros and it was just ok. This time around I went with the Frittata & I liked it better. Their Chocolate Chip Pancakes are decent but it would be better if it were served w/eggs. (maybe that's just me?) Eggs Benedict are nothing special, how can you F up this dish anyway? I remember the service being much better my 1st time - my glass was never empty. Not this time. I drank my fiancé's mimosa more than once waiting for a refill. However, I will give them props for the Spark Plug shot. I could have had this all morning! Lime is fun for groups but is it praiseworthy? No. If you don't mind the 2-hour limit then it's a good brunch option with cheap bottomless cocktails. ($7 to $10 depending on the cocktail) You can go to the bar for $2 refills once your time's up! I like the energy of this place, more than the food, and of course the unlimited mimosas. Food = 3 stars Ambiance = 5 stars Service = 3 stars Value = 4 stars
