It was sometime in September 2009 when my friend and I decided to head over to Temple a second time in over a year. The night we were going, Remedy was promoting it, so there was a lot of house music and bit of a more laid back vibe. We were some of the first guys in line so we got in without a problem. It's a two story club and the layout on the top floor that gets you on the main floor is pretty nice, a nice long bar, and the lighting is decent, but nothing out of the ordinary. It was pretty dead so we decided to migrate downstairs which had more of a underground club feel to it. There was a small bar and a entrance to another room which had white couches with black lights that gave it a nice feel. The room wasn't very large but they played some decent house music. The main dance floor on the lower level was quite large but wasn't anything special. They were playing some kick ass old school hip hop and there was a group of break dancers meeting up. A bunch of fellas and girls dressed in their breaker get up and giving each other props. So I'm thinking that this might be good... I was wrong.. these guys were somewhat decent, but seemed like amateurs acting like they were the next contestants for ABDC.... Lame lame lame... Dressed the part, but hardly played the part... The house dancers were mediocre.. In fact it seemed as if the girls were the better dancers in the entire groups.. Overall, had a good time at Temple, they made decent drinks and played good music. But most people kept to themselves and some seemed to have inflated egos about nothing. There wasn't very many attractive girls, and way too many guys.. But there wasn't any troublemakers starting fights, definitely the more mature crowd. I'd go to Temple again, but I wouldn't get too excited over it.

I went here when it first opened about a year ago. It was pretty cool. Love the decor, it's very old hollywood. The place is HUGE, considering it is just a door from the outside, you would never guess such a huge and nice place existed inside, esp. being next to the club. I had dinner and drinks there. The Crepe was so good! But I have to say that the bouncers there are assholes. They all power trip like crazy. And you definitely will not be able to get in without being on the list. I went with some friends who know the owner, and the bouncers still gave us attitude. One of the friends that I was with (who is black) thinks that they are racist. lol... not too sure about that though.

I went here on Monday night to have a drink with an old co-worker. When I started to walk down Geary I did not have a particular bar in mind but I wanted to find someplace I had never been to before; I have been to Ireland 32 (liked it) and a few places on Clement. I looked inside Abbey and became a little hesitant; there were about 10 guys inside and one girl. Now, I like going to bars but sometimes it is boring going alone. I decided to go in anyway; they had about 10 TVs on so there was no way I could get bored while waiting for my friend. I ordered a Stella, grabbed a table and watched the Wisconsin vs. Seattle game on the big screen; I am not super into football but it was entertaining. The Stella tasted a little flat so I decided to make my next one a Guinness. There was a very nice Irish lad at the bar that made me feel right at home with a little pleasant conversation and harmless flirting. It was when I was chatting him up that I noticed soccer on the TV I could not see from my seat; there had been a pole in the way all that time. So, long story short, I sat on the other side of my table and was able to watch soccer, hockey, football and poker all at once; It just does not get any better then that. The last wonderful surprise of the evening came on my 3rd trip to the bar, my new friend informs me that they have food for the Monday night football crowd. I thought it would be chips or hot dogs, it was not. They provided a very good beef stew and soft buttered bread, I was impressed. So, I guess I am saying that I like this bar and the regulars that frequent it. I have not gone on the weekend but I will be back during the week.
