by nate m. on Guys & Dolls, do not show up with 30+ people on Friday or Saturday night and simply expect to get in just because its your birthday or because you are a nice person, especially if you are not on the guest list. While the great city of San Francisco is not quite Vegas or NYC, its not Modesto either. If you feel entitled to waltz into a club with a huge group of people not on the list perhaps you should move to the central valley. Fellas, cool sneakers and hip tees*, jeans, etc, are welcomed. You do not have to wear those stripped button ups and shiny shoes that have been in your closet since the late nineties. In fact, if they aren't for work use please give them to Salvation Army or take them to Buffalo Exchange and subsidize your light bill. *Cool tees DO NOT include Ultimate Fight grade graphic designs: Thus, if you own Ed Hardy, throw it away and pretend that didn't happen (It's okay, I used to wear blue cross-colors in Junior High). Indeed, if you own Affliction, you should simply try another venue ...perhaps in another county. Other designs such as Angel Wings, Skulls, or Tribal tattoos need not apply. Moreover, baggy designer jeans and extra large dress shirts do not count as "stylish." If you are still stuck on your look from Chronic 2001 please try your luck with Broadway. Ladies, check your BF's closet and put your foot down. Either that, or leave him at home with ESPN and come have some fun!
by Risa Y. on We had a reservation for 20 people since it was my friends birthday. We made the reservation at 10pm and we got there on time at 10pm but we didn't get seated until 11pm! Some people were pretty annoyed with the wait, but it was a birthday party so we kept our spirit high. We all stood by the bar while we waited to get seated. Drinks are Hollywood price but they were pretty good. I ordered a dry martini to get the party started for myself... since I was pretty annoyed with the wait. One drink definitely got me tipsy and by the time we got seated I was drunk and the party was ON! We ordered this one drink, I don't remember what it was since I was pretty drunk, but it was in a pineapple cut and wow it was so good! I wish I remembered what it was, but if you are interested, just ask for a cocktail in a pineapple cup! lol! Since we were a big party, there was a minimum of $20 a person but we had no problem with that since 2 drinks would be about $20 and we definitely drank more than that. Other than the creepy pictures on the wall... http://static.px.rateclubs.... the place was pretty nice. I liked the outside patio with a little bar. The bathrooms were a bit dirty tho... When I walked in, I wasn't too impressed with the service and the long wait... but once we got seated, our waitress was very nice and the drinks were so good, 2 star first impression went up to 4 stars!
