Opera is an absolutely fabulous venue, However, it has more of a "forced" party atmosphere. You really have to be in the mood for an absolutely mindless evening with overplayed top 40's hits. The cover is steep and my experience was lackluster. I won't be returning.

This is a review for the club. I've been there twice now, and I generally enjoy it. But the rooftop was closed for private party the second time I went, which was a major bummer cause that's my favorite part about this place. Each floor has a slightly different vibe so you can move around as your mood changes. The basement floor is much louder, darker, and more bumping. The first floor is pretty low key as its the same floor as the restaurant. The third floor is more wide open and sociable with about 1/3 bar, 1/3 tables, 1/3 dance floor. The rooftop is more laid back and open and easiest to socialize. They seem to limit access to VIP or girls too, which is great if you're part of that group. Now for some of my grips about the place. Last time I came, they gave us some Bud Light beads and coupons right when we entered, as Budweiser was probably running some promo. The coupons said "$2 BUD" and had Bud Light, Budweiser, Budweiser Select logos on it -- nothing more nothing less. My buddies and I thought we should thereby kick off the night with some beers and hand her 4 coupons and ask for 4 Bud Lights. The bartender pulls them out and opens all the beers. Bartender: "That'll be 20 dollars." Me: "Wait, did I miss something? I thought it was $2." Bartender: "Yeah...I know, it's actually $2 off. Those coupons are a little misleading." Me: "Um...a little? It just says '$2 Bud', its completely misleading." Oh well, we just bite the bullet. Maybe an hour later, I order a Budweiser. Somehow, the same bartender misread that as redbull vodka. She pours it out in disgust when I tell her that I ordered a Budweiser, and she tells me they don't carry Budweiser, only Bud Light. Uh...the coupons said Budweiser on them as well. The King of Beers would not be pleased.

Personally, I had a good time there. I think people need to realize that if you wanna have fun, you'll make the best of it no matter where you go. Just a thought ya know? anyway, besides the hassle of lines and what not, i had a great time in the latino room. The DJ was excellent. I went here for Motherfucker 2007 to watch the Faint and IT WAS AN AMAZING TIIIME! One thing i could say, It's a spacious venue, but with a "rough" crowd.
