by Margaret Trainum on I guess it depends on the night you go to Playhouse, but I really like Monday nights, when it's house music night. The door girl leaves a little to be desired (I'd call her frosty at best,) but the guy promoters outside will pull a pretty girl in quickly for free. Super easy. Inside, it's a couple of levels. The bar's huge and the bartenders are quick. They also pour quite heavily. You were warned. Don't be the girl on top of the bar. haha. I've also had the pleasure of having a table here overlooking the dance floor. The photogs wouldn't leave us alone, but it was a ton of fun. Bottles are normal Hollywood prices and our waitress was sweet, although a little desperate to get us to follow her to the various clubs she also works at. The crowd is mixed- some hot, some you can tell obviously bribed their way inside, but that's what you get in Hollywood. Overall, I had a blast each time I was here and would recommend it.
by Mandy L. on Wow is this place gorgeous! It is ornate in details all over the outside and inside. Just a beautiful venue to enjoy some amazing music. I started the night on the railing and ended up at the bar railing due to an obnoxious hippie who managed to offer crappy energy in as little as 5 minutes behind me. I just wanted to have a good time, not battle some obnoxious guy. Bar was good, they don't offer stamps so each time you leave you need to have your id ready when you want to re-enter. Kind of annoying but at least they are doing their job I guess.
by Vernell Donart on I really don't care for this place. I have now been twice once this summer and the other time in the fall. I had a decent time both times I went there, but still feel it's too fratty/college like for my tastes. Anybody wishing to reminisce on past glories at the Frat will surely enjoy this place. They do have some great deals so if you're cheap and like to drink alot this might be your spot. Refer to Tina R's review for specific details.
