What an institution! On the other hand, the food itself is not that great but the "FO" (frosted orange) is to die for. But watch out....after you eat here you will definitely see that your runways are slicked and primed for explosion. Unfortunately the bathroom stalls do not have doors on them either. Bummer, but oh well. We always stop by on our way through town. The service is very frustrating too. You'll see...

I've been wanting to join Rateclub forever, but I never had the motivation until last night's debacle that is Yoshi's. Simply put, they suck. Every single person on the waitstaff was rude, unhelpful and short. This did not make for a pleasant concert-going experience. I'm not usually picky about service--on the contrary, I think I'm very understanding because I used to be a waitress--but i think the folks who worked here were actually *trying* to not give a shit. It was so impossible to find a waiter when you needed one, and when they finally did show up at your table, their entire manner seemed to say, "hurry up because you're wasting my time". (Were they understaffed? Pathetically managed? I don't care, just bring me drink! And yes, I do want water this time, cuz its the 3rd time I've asked.) The food was really tasty, but one of our sushi rolls was pretty watery. For $17/roll, I don't think its asking too much for the crunchy stuff to stay crunchy. The drinks were delicious and smooth and well presented. But again, it took forever to get anything. Oh did I mention the prices are exorbitant? $7 for a melty ball of chocolate goo. REALLY? Yoshi's wants to charge people out the wazoo and pack us in like sardines. And why? That's not what the Fillmore is about. That's not what Jazz is about. $15 minimum for a table in the lounge. 1 item minimium per table in the stage-room. That's on top of the $20 tickets, which I guess is the low-end for them. The postivie part? The music was awesome. We were seated at the very far left of the stage, and though I thought this might be "the only bad table in the house", I was wrong. The sound was superb. So at least that part was good. Despite all the bull, my friends and I had fun dancing in the aisles. (Yes, you can dance in Yoshi's, there's just not a lot of space). I don't think I'd come here again unless they change management or their table reservation system, which is confusing and poorly executed at best. Feel my wrath, Yoshi's. Rarr.
