by Jason C. on Assumption #1: Bubble Lounge probably serves Boba Tea. Oops. They were talking about champagne: delicious combination of the bubbly mixed with juice that sported names like Bubble Bellinis, Mimosas, and fancy no-name needed strawberry drinks - WRONG Assumption #2: There must be a stiff cover charge in such a swanky looking place. I was pleasantly surprised there was none. Once I saw the menu, though, I knew a new type of financial ass raping would occur. Priced from $10-$20 for a tiny glass, I expected my portion in a pint glass - WRONG Assumption #3: The classy atmosphere must have lots of classy people. After wading through the sea of sloppy singles, I realized the crowd, sans blazer and dress shirt, could have easily fit into a sleazy dive bar. Wearing nice clothes does not make your pick up lines any more suave or make you any less of a douche - WRONG Assumption #4: The dance floor must be awesome, since there's a lot of good music coming from downstairs. This would have been correct if I could have gotten on it. Not only was it hot, sweaty, and poorly ventilated, it was filled with the people named above who miraculously changed appearances, sporting tee shirts after shedding their evening wear for some bumpin' and grindin' on the dance floor - WRONG Assumption #5: Well, since the drinks are expensive, people dress sort of nicely, everybody must be hot. After all, I'm here, aren't I? This was very, very true at the time I made this assumption. A dark shade of yellow light drizzled the floor with a magical effect: Everybody was beautiful! Then an interesting thing occurred. Last call was announced and the lights started un-dimming. People all around me became, well, messy, sweaty pools of runny make up, dejected from phone number asking rejection, and in short, I updated my facebook status to: Everybody's getting ugly! Luckily everything I learned had no influence on the ridiculous amount of fun I had. And because of this, I'll one day assume that this place is awesome and make the mistake of coming here again.
