by Ginger S. on Let me begin by saying that I watched Top Chef religiously and constantly voted for Kevin to win. He did an awesome job on Top Chef and I was so excited to try his restaurant, especially after reading everyone's review on here. Before I start explaining my experiences tonight, I do want to say that Kevin was not at the restaurant. Because of everyone's reviews and my faith in Kevin as a chef, I might consider giving the restaurant another chance. For the first course, we started off with the shrimp salad and halibut soup. The halibut soup and shrimp salad were both delicious. For the second course, we ordered the truffle risotto and diver scallop. The truffle risotto was not very good. We couldn't taste any truffle flavor, but even for a plain risotto, I've made better (which doesn't say much for the chef). As for the diver scallop, it truly is just one scallop. The scallop was ok, nothing to rave home about, but not terrible. For the main courses, we ordered the pork loin, the beef strip loin, and the duck. Seeing that the pig is Kevin's favorite meat, it was truly a shame that the pork was dried. There was one piece right in the middle that was not dried, but everything else was. The duck was cooked well, but the temperature was not hot when we received it. Neither was the beef strip loin. The service was not good either. Our waitress would disappear for long periods of time. We were going to order dessert, but decided not to after waiting 20 minutes for our check. But no, it doesn't end there. After dinner, we exit through the front doors to hand the valet ticket to the valet guys to find that they've lost our keys! I've valeted my car all over Atlanta, and this is the first time this has ever happened. We waited and tried to stay calm as the valet guy proceeded to tell us that he has no idea where our keys are. Then, he has the nerve to ask us, where we needed to go after dinner, which in my opinion is none of his business. The manager asked us to sit down in the bar while the valet guys continued looking for our keys. He did buy us a round of drinks and the waitress was very helpful and nice. She was the highlight of our experience at Woodfire Grill. After about 25 minutes, they find our keys in someone else's car. Apparently, the valet guys thought it was a good idea to put our car keys in another person's car's cup holder. So, needless to say, its going to be awhile. Kevin, I think you need to keep a closer eye on your restaurant.
by Mona L. on Who ever says you can't have a great time in Queens? Love the divey feel of this place and if you're looking for some real Irish service, look no further and get yourself over here. You get a wide selection of food from nearby Woodside Cafe and affordable drinks with some fun background 80's, 90's music. Plus, if you come here on a weeknight, you may get some hook ups on drinks. (My friend and I were having a car bomb contest and the sassy, friendly waitress gave us a round in the house!) P.S. We ordered fries, calamari and mushroom ravioli-- the fries were delicious, freshly cut in that mojo potato style and the calamari was decent. The ravioli was a bit salty but nevertheless, yummy.
by Wordup on Just to let you know, Skin does charge 3 dollars for the buffet so if you don't know what you're talking about, please keep it to yourself. On top on that, the GM is a complete cokehead and he sells coke in his office to the dancers and this was also confirmed by the dancers. If you want to go to a place where they will over charge you for drinks, and drug addcits. i suggest yall should go there.
by Mark B on The previous review is hilarious; they are either lying or they are reviewing the wrong club. I used to go to skin every saturday for their awesome free buffet pasta lunch. Yes, Free. Their quality of women is TOP; best in Phoenix, and I've been to them all. ALSO, they are some of the nicest dancers in the Phoenix area. There are reasons that Skin has been voted best strip club in Phoenix (out of 50 clubs)...and that alone should be enough to dispell the rediculous statements made above. Skin is reasonably priced, and I never felt pressure to throw money at the girls; lol. In fact, people don't tip the girls that much. I always do because it's a low stage and very personal experience. You aren't straining your neck to look at some chick four feet above you. Tremendous value; Of all of the 100s of strip clubs I've been to worldwide, I give this one the #2 spot...beaten only by the Safari Lodge in Moscow, Russia.
by Got screwed from Canada on Well I felt that when I left the club that i royaly got screwed up the #^%&*. The owner was down right a $^%* and fiqured that we had expendible amounts of money and we where shamed into not throwing loads of money at each dancer. A charge for everything...tables entrance and the drinks where watered down... This club is a farce and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone unless you want to spend a lot of money and feel like you $&%*^*%.
