by Andrea Inzana on We had our wedding reception at Terra in October 2009 and we could not have been happier with our experience and with how everything turned out. There is nothing we would have changed. From the beginning, Terra felt right. Dusty put us at ease throughout the wedding planning process and did not give off the typical shakedown vibe we got at other SF venues we met with. Rather than force you to choose from a pre-set list of "preferred vendors" Dusty recommended people he had successfully worked with in the past depending on what you needed. Each vendor provided quality service and contributed to making our wedding unforgettable. Stephanie and Amy, Dusty's associates at Terra, were both extremely helpful as well. Everyone at Terra was very easy to work with and you could not help, but feel like you were getting great value. Ultimately, the wedding went off without a hitch and everything about the reception was custom-designed for us with our style and theme in mind. All of our guests were extremely impressed by the amazing event staff and wedding reception...this is the perfect San Francisco wedding venue!
by Kimberly K. on a mixture of highs and lows at el rio. looks like nothin from the street- your typical small dive. but that's where you're wrong. you'll fall in love with the back patio. best i've ever been to. huge. packed with people. great lighting. scent of grilled meat wafting through the air. fruit trees. real, tall, awesome effin fruit trees to put that citrus in your wheat beer. head inside to the bar to order a drink, and it'll be awhile. a long while. but with a happy hour til 9pm and $3 well drinks, it's to be expected. long wait was a downer, but the patio surpassed the bad. and a burlesque show last night going on next door? pretty cool.
by Verna Schroer on i could see how the velvet ropes are a tad bit excessive, but whatever, i had no problems getting in. Didn't even venture downstairs, upstairs had great music, honestly. My one criticism would be for the dj to just let the song play for more than oh, 1 minute? I loved the asthetics of the place with the chandeliers and the dark colors. A fun place to go with a group if you're not trying to take yourself too seriously.
