i would go so far to say that this is my new favorite place to eat and booze in NYC. as you walk up to the random location in soho, you see very cool people hanging outside, just drinking beers and chilling. open container!!! the interior is eclectic, full of creaky floorboards, old signs, ephemera, collectibles, antiques...overstimulating and crowded. noisy. packed in. but amazing. for 3 people to eat dinner on a thursday night, it was a 45 min wait. worth it, though! dinner is like $10, which is amazing for NYC. it was really good with huge portions (i got the veggie burger which comes with a salad and yummy potatoes, friend got burger and other friend got the grilled salmon.) dinner for 3 was $45!!! i love the ambiance. i think very cool people go here and appreciate the historic value. i had been trying to get over here for a while and so happy i finally did! can't wait to hang here during the summer months.

"I want 'em real thick and juicy, so find that juicy double, Mix-a-Lot's in trouble, Beggin' for a piece of that bubble" ---These are just some of lyrics that Andrius and I sang for Karaoke night at Margarita Jones. At 8:30pm, the restaurant was dead so we got up and moved to the "nightclub" section of the club. I put this in quotation marks because it was pretty much a small room with tables on one end and a bar on the other. Andrius got a coconut margarita and since they had desserts on the menu, I got the flan. I really dont know what to think of the flan, it was rich and creamy, but looked like they bought it from the grocery store and scraped it out of its original container. Now, here I see that the other reviews were complaining about how much the service sucked. My experience was totally different because the our waiter came to check on us often and was very pleasant. This guy was actually working the bar and all the tables at the same time. On to the music and karaoke, the dj announced that he had a cash prize for the winner of the karaoke contest (yeah right), and that he needed people to sign up. This was kind of confusing because it was a Wednesday night, there were a few occupied tables, but hardly a crowd. My first song was one of Amy Winehouses', which was a mess since the dj played me the remix/rapping version. (wtf?) By the end of the night, Andrius and I were battling it out with two hynas at the bar who kept on trying to one-up us by singing en espanol. If you wouldn't come here for the food or the music, its still a great place to people watch. We met a lovely selection of characters, there were: - A group of cackling women on one end. -The drunk dudes on the other -The hynas trying to make us look bad -The homies in the back specifically there to pick up on the hynas - And Paul (who I assume is a regular), who will have his hands all over his Mrs. one minute and try to slip you his digits, another. A good time was had by all.
