by Beth K. on Why you should go: The music is great, lots of hip hop They had drink specials that were pretty reasonable ($5 Kettle One cocktails last night) The set up is good... enough room to move around, to dance, to sit and people watch. Saturday night some friends reserved the upstairs for a private party, and there wasn't really anything to prevent random people from wandering upstairs. So it was cool to have our own space, although it was sort of invaded as the night went on. I was not a fan of the $5 cover charge. There are so many places that don't charge a cover, I just don't see the point.
by Antonina Hemsley on So after a friend's suggestion I went to Nick's twice in one week, which is more than I had ever gone before. On the first occasion the bartender was sweet, and the $10 pitchers were a steal. The carnitas nachos I ordered were fine, but I was surprised by the ballpark cheese. Really? Maybe I'm becoming a Mission hipster privy to too many good El Farlito burritos. On the second visit I tried the fried fish burritos. Def. an improvement. Though $7.75 for a burrito? I know I'm frugal to some degree, but seriously, if it weren't for the chandeliers I'd feel a little ripped off. One more down on the bucket-list.

I AM NOT JOKING. their tactic is to lead you away from your group, saying that a different spot is better. is that not the mindset of a rapist???!!! SO DISGUSTED. BOTTOMLINE: this is not the place to dance if you want to stay away from disgusting pervs. which i think everyone wants to do... ALTERNATIVELY, they should teach women self defense during the salsa lesson. *okay i danced w/ ONE awesome dancer, but that's it. the five of us left feeling disgusted, violated, turned off to salsa.
